Mode
VI, ‘Storing up all
their hope’, is one of the
most often used model melodies
(automela,
samopodobny) in the Orthodox
Christian tradition of liturgical
hymnody. Over the years, I have had occasion to chant many texts to
this melody. Recently I decided to translate the original into English,
and to set that translation to the Carpatho-Rusyn music that
accompanies the text in that chant tradition.
